The Alliance

The Alliance is a national trade association redefining how nursing homes are represented in Ireland. We support our members through a comprehensive suite of services, including expert representation, consultancy and Garda Vetting, grounded in a deep understanding of the operational and regulatory realities facing the sector.

Our CEO, Shane Scanlan, is a registered nurse with more than 14 years’ experience in nursing homes, including a decade as Person in Charge. This frontline leadership experience informs the Alliance’s practical, credible and solutions focused approach to advocacy.

At a time of unprecedented pressure on nursing homes, the Alliance is a strong and consistent voice on the cost of care and long term sustainability of the sector. We engage directly and constructively with Government officials, the Department of Health, the National Treatment Purchase Fund (NTPF), the Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA) and a wide range of key stakeholders to ensure the realities faced by providers and residents are understood and addressed.
